The Award recognizes a life-time of outstanding contribution to MS research, Professor Prineas having been at the forefront of neuropathology in MS. His recent findings of sick and dying cells in the early stages of MS, prior to the autoimmune response, have revolutionized the world-wide understanding of the disease, providing hope for new therapies which include the potential to repair the neural damage.

Barefoot Bowling and Trivia Night

Tania Beck’s wonderful ongoing support in conducting a Barefoot Bowling and Trivia Night at Waverton Bowling Club on 25th October 2008 resulted in over $10,000 being raised for the Trish Foundation’s research.

The Foundation’s sensational supporters again ‘dug deep’ and generously supported the fundraiser, the amount raised giving our funds for research a great boost.

Bill Gilbert was Trivia Master, again generously giving his time and professional skills in performing this important duty and ensuring the Foundation’s supporters enjoyed the evening.

In a very close contest, MS Research Australia’s table won the Trivia, capably led by Executive Director Jeremy Wright and Trivia buff Sarah Ross-Smith. They subsequently donated their prize back to the Foundation; it was auctioned and raised further funds for research.

Alan raised $6,000 running the London Marathon in 2003 for his brother-in-law Alex Berry, who at the time was suffering from MS.

Trish Foundation’s contribution to NH&MRC Betty Cuthbert Awards

Roy and Carol Langsford travelled to Canberra on 30 November 2005 to attend the prestigious NH&MRC Betty Cuthbert Awards which were launched by the Minister for Health and Ageing, Hon. Tony Abbott.

Mr Abbott awarded Dr Mark Slee with the inaugural Betty Cuthbert Scholarship and Dr Helmut Butzkueven with the first Betty Cuthbert Fellowship at a ceremony in Canberra, the two new grants from the NH&MRC totalling $355,000. The two recipients were selected from a shortlist of eight potential NH&MRC candidates.

The NH&MRC Betty Cuthbert Awards, jointly funded by MS Research Australia and NH&MRC, with the Fellowship partly funded by the Trish Foundation, will strengthen Australia’s research into the causes of multiple sclerosis and speed up the discovery of therapies to reduce the devastating effects of the disease.

“It is so fitting that these prestigious awards are named after Betty Cuthbert,” said Trish Foundation Director Carol Langsford. “The Foundation is thrilled to be able to contribute to this Fellowship awarded to Dr. Butzkueven, which will bring the cure for MS one step closer.”

When announcing the NH&MRC scholarship and fellowship awards, Mr Abbott paid tribute to Olympic gold medal winner, Ms Cuthbert, who was struck down by multiple sclerosis almost 25 years ago.

Ms Cuthbert gave an inspiring speech. "All I can say is this MS, it just takes away your life," she said. "Never give up, never give up," she urged the 16,000 Australians who have MS.

The Betty Cuthbert Fellowship, which the Trish Foundation is partly funding, was awarded to Dr Helmut Butzkueven, of the MS Group at the Howard Florey Institute in Melbourne, to continue his research into optic neuritis, the most common presenting symptom of multiple sclerosis.

Jeremy Wright, Executive Director, MS Research Australia, said that the awards were established to honour Betty Cuthbert, one of Australia’s greatest legends, and to encourage more top researchers to further investigate MS in Australia.

“The Betty Cuthbert Scholarship and Fellowship is an important award that aims to highlight the need for MS research and encourage more medical research into this area to help accelerate progress through to a cause and cure for MS.”

Annual Gala Dinner 2005 Report

Annual Gala Dinner – Parliament House 16th September 2005

Support for the Trish Foundation’s Annual Gala Dinner held at Parliament House Sydney on 16th September 2005 was overwhelming.  In early August, the evening had sold out and shortly afterwards there was a large waiting list.

Hosted by the Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the NSW Parliament, Barry O’Farrell the event was attended by Hon Brendan Nelson, Federal Minister for Science, Education and Training.

Dr. Nelson delivered an inspiring speech, committing $20,000 of Government funds to the establishment of a ‘Trish Foundation’ PhD Scholarship. Mayne Health Laverty Pathology, the Foundation’s major corporate sponsor, contributed an additional $5,000 and through the generosity of many attendees at the dinner in making additional donations, it will be possible to establish two ‘Trish Foundation’ PhD Scholarships.

These Scholarships are fantastic in building the capacity in Australia for increased research into MS,” said Executive Director of MS Research Australia, Jeremy Wright.

Generous support from many corporations and individuals contributed to $112,000 being raised for research to pursue a cure or preventative strategy for multiple sclerosis.

We are very grateful to Barry O’Farrell and to Dr. Brendan Nelson for their magnificent ongoing support of the Trish Foundation and also the Foundation’s major sponsors for their significant contributions to the funds raised,” Foundation Director Roy Langsford said.

The Foundation would like to thank professional MC Simon Marnie, brilliant comedian Rodney Marks, our Auctioneer extraordinaire Craig Marshall, DMC Digital for producing the video, talented musicians The Waves and everyone who attended the dinner and supported the Trish Foundation so generously, as well as all those people and organizations who made generous donations.”

The Trish Foundation’s Gala Dinners have elevated the support for MS research in Sydney to a terrific new level. If you consider how terrible MS can be, this increased support is so welcome and well overdue,” Jeremy Wright added.

Year 12 Students' Magnificent Support

Year 12 students in Allen House and Munro House at St. Leonards College, Brighton, Victoria, have raised over $900 for the Trish Foundation's research.

The Allen House and Munro House Fundraising Team (pictured) worked very hard to raise these funds and the Foundation is very grateful for their wonderful support.

Trish Foundation renews its Agreement with Multiple Sclerosis Australia

The Trish Foundation has renewed its Agreement with Multiple Sclerosis Australia, incorporating as well, Multiple Sclerosis Research Australia to continue to work in association towards our common goal. People with MS, their families and friends will be very heartened to learn of the launch of MS Research Australia.

It really is exciting times in MS research in Australia,” said Trish Foundation Director Carol Langsford. “I am pleased and honoured to have been invited to be a member of MSRA’s Working Committee and to be able to contribute to the much-needed cure for MS in that way as well, as we work together to pursue our common goal.

MS Research Australia was launched by Hon. John Howard, Prime Minister of Australia who announced on behalf of the Commonwealth government a contribution of $250,000 to the campaign. Betty Cuthbert travelled to Canberra as guest of honour for the launch.

MSRA has lofty goals of raising big dollars to place into research,” Mrs Langsford added. “There are many brilliant scientists in Australia working hard on the cure for MS who have only been limited in the past by lack of funding. This initiative, together with the Trish Foundation’s fundraising will ensure our common goal is all that much closer.”

Sydney Cricket Association, Women's Competition

Sincere thanks to Sydney Cricket Association, Women's Competition Sub-Committee for dedicating the proceeds of their raffle at the Premiers' Dinner to the Trish Foundation. Sincere thanks also to Harry Solomons, Kingsgrove Sports Centre for donating memorabilia as prizes. Roy and Carol Langsford attended the Premiers' Dinner to present the Trish Langsford Shield. The cricketing fraternity's generosity raised $815.00 for the Foundation's future research.

More Generous Support from Kuwait

Kelly Honts and Darlene Wakim (Haddad) have made a tremendous contribution to the Trish Foundation's funds for research. Kelly has worked extremely hard holding bake sales at her school in Kuwait and Darlene has donated the proceeds of a published article. These wonderful Trish Foundation supporters have deposited $1,373.26 into the Foundation's Research Account.

New Funding Grants Announced

The Trish Foundation has announced its second round of funding for research grants, having committed a further $250,000 for research into the pursuit of a cure or preventative strategy for multiple sclerosis.

The Trish Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis Australia called for applications for research which were jointly branded and were overwhelmed by the number of worthy applications for research, sadly all of which could not be funded.

Applications were assessed internationally and were ranked by the Medical and Research Advisory Board of MS Australia, following which the Trish Foundation’s honorary Scientific Research Committee recommended the projects which meet the firm funding guidelines of the Trish Foundation to the Foundation’s Board for approval.

The four projects which the Foundation will fund are all Queensland-based and address fundamental aspects of causation or prevention. Foundation Scientific Research Committee member Professor Peter Russell said, “Momentum is gathering in the quest to eradicate this disease. The part our Foundation plays should not be underestimated, as it underpins the fragile research funding in Australia into multiple sclerosis and its causes.”

Please see our Research page for further details.

Bentley Sydney Celebrity Charity Golf Day 2005

Celebrities came from far and wide to support the second annual Bentley Sydney Celebrity Charity Golf Day held at Terrey Hills Golf and Country Club on St. Patrick’s Day.

Led by former Prime Minister Hon. Bob Hawke AC, celebrities Mark Taylor, Mark Waugh, Bob Simpson, Phil Blake, Tim Brasher, Tony Greig, Geraldine Brown, Paul Clitheroe, John Coates, Peter Cullum, Dr. John D’Arcy, Bob Dwyer, David Gilbert, Colin Love, Andrew Murphy, Peter Ritchie, Caroline Searcy, Graeme Watson and Peter Wynn braved wet conditions to support the fundraiser.

Special thanks to Bob for kindly donating this part of cricket history, which contributed a significant amount to the funds raised. The Golf Day was a joint fundraiser for the Trish Foundation and the Roseville College Foundation and was supported by Dr. Brendan Nelson MP, Federal Minister for Education Science and Training.

"Even a very wet day on the golf course could not dampen the spirits of the celebrities and golfers when it came to their generous support for the Bentley Sydney Celebrity Charity Golf Day held at Terrey Hills Golf and Country Club,” Chairman of the Joint Organising Committee Barry Bradford said. “Despite only half of the 100 golfers finishing their round all stayed for what was a truly superb evening of entertainment and fundraising.”

We thank all participants and especially thank our fantastic celebrities who willingly gave their time for our two very worthy Foundations. Just in excess of $50,000 was raised in our second annual event. We have already booked Terrey Hills again for 23rd March 2006 and we look forward to seeing you there."

The funds raised, boosted enormously by the auctioneering skills of Craig Marshall, Century 21 Gordon, will boost the Trish Foundation’s future research and enhance the education provided to Roseville College girls.

We are very grateful to Bentley Sydney for their generous sponsorship, all the celebrities and golfers who supported the event, the generous people who donated items and also the Corporations who were Associate Sponsors,” said Trish Foundation Director Roy Langsford. “St. Patrick’s Day, although bringing inclement weather, proved a day of great camaraderie, net-working, fun and fellowship, whilst raising funds for the Trish Foundation and Roseville College Foundation.”

Brian McMillan, Managing Director of Bentley Sydney said, "A golf day to remember! The event was fantastic with the celebration of St. Patrick's Day included. The atmosphere was full of camaraderie between celebrities and the enthusiastic supporting golfers. The day, with the heavens opening up, didn't stop the golfers and it's a real credit to them playing in those conditions. The event overall, and the evening dinner auction, was very special with the framed photo of the Australian Cricket Team that Bob Simpson donated was a true piece of "memorabilia". Bob Simpson speaking on the night and pointing out it was the last tour that went to England by ship really showed how special the auction item was. Paul Clitheroe did a sterling job in organising the evening's events through the magic microphone ensuring everybody was mentioned and thanked for their continuing support and participation. Bentley Sydney is proud to be associated, all our staff and customers had a great time and we'd like to thank all the people that bring this day together."

Please see our Thanks to our Supporters page for acknowledgement and thanks to the Associate Sponsors and other supporters of this great event.

Rotary Club of Strathfield Charity Golf Day - 17 February 2005

Tennis legend Ken Rosewall (see at right with Niall King (Rotary Club of Strathfield) and Amanda Northridge (MSRA)) generously gave his time to support the Foundation at the Rotary Club of Strathfield's Annual Golf Day and Dinner which was organised again this year by Rotarian Niall King.  The Golf Day and Dinner raised a wonderful $20,000 for the work of the Foundation.

This is the fourth consecutive year the Club has dedicated its annual fundraiser to the Trish Foundation, having previously raised $50,000.

"Our promise to Trish to never give up until a cure is found for this disease is only achievable when we have such wonderful support from Rotary Club of Strathfield and sporting legends such as Ken Rosewall," said Foundation Director Roy Langsford. "To be able to raise this amount following the community's response to the Tsunami appeals is quite remarkable and the Foundation is sincerely grateful to Niall, the Club, Ken and all those who so generously supported the Golf Day and Dinner."

MS Research Australia were represented at the Rotary Club’s fundraiser by Campaign Coordinator, Amanda Northridge who worked very hard selling raffle tickets. “We are ecstatic to be working with the Trish Foundation. It is a fantastic relationship,” Ms Northridge said. “The Rotary Club of Strathfield and its supporters are making a great contribution towards the break-through in MS and eventually a cure.”

Lindfield Bridge Club

Thank you to Lindfield Bridge Club for dedicating its Charity Day to the Trish Foundation this year. Sincere appreciation also to Anna Cavill who co-ordinated the food for the day and to all the Bridge players who supported the event. A wonderful $2,520.80 was raised for the work of the Foundation.

The picture to the right is our 'team' at Lindfield Bridge Club serving lunch to the bridge players. Left to right - Jan Colchester, Wendy Dodd, Anna Cavill and the Office Administrator of Lindfield Bridge Club, Angie Boulton.

2004 Annual Gala Dinner

The Trish Foundation’s Annual Gala Dinner was held at Oatlands House on 10 September 2004. Almost $70,000 was raised towards the Foundation’s research – a record!

Thank you to every person who attended the dinner, particularly supporters who travelled from country New South Wales, and bid so generously for the vast array of Live and Silent Auction items.

The magnificent array of Live and Silent Auction items was only made possible by the great generosity of many people and organizations. The Foundation wishes to thank each and every one for their magnificent support of the Foundation and its goal.

As well, sincere gratitude to professional Master of Ceremonies Bill Gilbert, talented Auctioneer Craig Marshall, Century 21 Gordon, wonderful musicians Ian Thistlethwaite and his band Triple Exposure and very entertaining guest speaker, Olympic Gold Medallist Debbie Watson. Special thanks also to Anna Cavill and Rachel Cohen who were responsible for the power point presentation and videos which were shown at the dinner and Tim Gilbert, Channel 9 who did the voiceover for the video.

Mayne Health Laverty Pathology, the Foundation’s major corporate sponsor, continue to significantly support the Foundation, for which we are most grateful. Singapore Airlines, Singapore Airlines Holidays, the Waldorf Apartment Hotel Group, Mounts Bay Waters Apartment Hotel Perth, Pacific International Cairns on the Esplanade, Mercure Grand Hotel on Swanston Melbourne and Ray and Brenda Easy who donated the airfares all gave very generous support which substantially contributed to the funds raised on the night.

A huge thank you also to Betty Cuthbert for kindly agreeing to lunch with the lucky highest bidder of the Western Australia Package.

The Foundation is very aware of the continual requests for donations organizations must receive to assist many worthwhile causes and we are extremely grateful to our generous major sponsors/supporters, as well as every other person and organization who has supported our cause about which we are so passionate.

See Our Supporters page for acknowledgement of our sponsors.

'Team Trish' in the City to Surf

Team Trish successfully completed the City to Surf on Sunday 8 August, covering the 14 kms in a more than reasonable time, given the 60,000 plus participants. Thank you to the members of Team Trish, particularly Muriel Buckeridge whose idea it was, for their great support and fundraising efforts.

More Support from the Other Side of the World

Grateful thanks to Kuwait resident Darlene Haddad who has again worked very hard fundraising for the Foundation. She has raised $US802 selling books at her Kuwait school.

Pictured at right - Darlene Haddad and her pupils at the American Academy for Girls, Kuwait.

Nutrimetics Fundraiser

The Foundation is very grateful to Anna Cavill who raised funds for the Foundation's research by way of a Nutrimetics fundraiser which was attended by many of Trish's school friends.

Anna is pictured with her mother Jenny Comanos who hosted the fundraiser.

'Ride 4 Hope'

Having successfully completed their epic motor cycle ride, ‘We Ride 4 MS’ from Sydney to London through some of the most dangerous countries in the world, Ralph Dixon and Fionnuala Livingston are planning an even bolder journey. Ralph, who has MS, is planning ‘Ride 4 Hope’ which will take him and his son through Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China, Mongolia, the very top of Russia, Siberia, across to Alaska, Canada and all mainland States.

Australian legend Betty Cuthbert is the patron of ‘Ride 4 Hope’. “I am only too pleased to be Patron and I wish Ralph all the best in his travel all around the world,” Betty said. The Foundation is once again very grateful to Ralph and Fionnuala for dedicating the Australian leg of ‘Ride 4 Hope’ to the Trish Foundation.

Sydney Cricket Association Women's Competition

Thank you very much to Cheryl Bernard, David McCredie and the committee of the Sydney Cricket Association Women's Competition for dedicating the raffle at their Presentation Dinner to the Foundation.  A special thank you also to Harry Solomons, Kingsgrove Sports Centre for donating the Bradman Memorabilia which was raffled on the night.

The proceeds of the raffle, $732.00 will boost the Foundation's future research funds.

Sad Loss of Laurie Anderson

The Trish Foundation has lost a dear friend and very generous supporter, Laurie Anderson.  Laurie's family requested donations to the Foundation in memory of Laurie in lieu of flowers. Sincere gratitude to the Anderson family for their significant support at such a difficult time.

Applications for 2004 Round of Funding

Applications for the Foundation's second round of funding, jointly branded with Multiple Sclerosis Australia, have now closed.  The applications are being assessed internationally and will be ranked by the Medical and Research Advisory Board of MS Australia.

The Trish Foundation's Scientific Research Committee will then choose the project(s) which meet the firm funding guidelines of the Foundation and make recommendations to the Foundation's Board for approval.

Roseville College and the Trish Foundation joint Celebrity Charity Golf Day

What do Pat Rafter, Mark Taylor, Gordon Bray, John Newcombe, Paul Clitheroe, Mark Waugh, Guy Leech, Phil Blake, Craig Riddington, Bob Dwyer, Mark Edmondson, Ken Edwards, David Gilbert, Rob Mundle, Bruce Bolden, Caroline Searcy, Paul Vautin, Adam Watt, Don Willesee, Geraldine Brown, Peter Cullum and Andrew Daddo have in common?

They all generously supported the Bentley Sydney Celebrity Charity Golf Day held at Terrey Hills Golf and Country Club on 25 March 2004.

The event was a joint fundraiser for the Trish Foundation and the Roseville College Foundation and was supported by Dr. Brendan Nelson MP, Federal Minister for Education Science and Training.

Bentley Sydney’s major sponsorship together with the generosity of Telstra Stadium and Toshiba and the support of so many celebrities who freely gave their time ensured the event was a great success. Approximately $50,000 was raised for these two worthy Foundations. This was our inaugural event and all participants want to come back next year,” said Chairman of the Joint Organising Committee Barry Bradford.

The funds raised, boosted enormously by the great auctioneering skills of Craig Marshall Century 21 Gordon, will add significantly to the Trish Foundation’s future research and will also enhance the education provided to Roseville College girls.

Brian McMillan, Managing Director, Bentley Sydney Five Dock said the event was a winner for all organisations involved. “I was most impressed by the support of the 25 celebrities such as Pat Rafter, John Newcombe, Fatty Vautin and Mark Taylor, who worked tirelessly and freely gave several hours of their time to entertain and play golf with their teams. It was wonderful to see such a big turnout in support of MS research, and that the players were not so much focussed on winning, but felt special just to be part of the day.”

Overall it was a fantastic day – money man Paul Clitheroe as MC, the venue, the organisation, even the weather. Like the whole event, the Bentleys parked around the clubhouse were well received, some people expressing their pleasure at being able to sit in a Bentley for the first time. The auction dinner following the golf was a tremendous money raiser and it was great to see that the Bentley goods we donated assisted in the success of the auction.

The feedback received from our customers who played was all positive. Bentley Sydney is pleased to have been involved in an event which attracts such support from both celebrities and the community, and for such a good cause as MS Research. Also I was very happy with the unexpected gift of a NSW State of Origin jersey signed by the celebrities.”

The Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation and the Roseville College Foundation wish to sincerely thank the following for their generous support of the Bentley Sydney Celebrity Charity Golf Day

Rotary Club of Strathfield

The Foundation owes a huge debt of gratitude to Rotary Club of Strathfield, particularly chief organiser Niall King, for raising a further $20,000 towards the Foundation's research.

This is the third successive year the Club has dedicated its Golf Day and Dinner to the Trish Foundation.  Organiser extraordinaire Niall, was fittingly honoured at the dinner by being awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship by the Club. The award is 'in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.'

The Foundation's heartfelt thanks to Niall and the Rotary Club of Strathfield.  Photo: Niall King receiving his prestigious award from Rotary Club of Strathfield President, Keith Stockall.

Avant Card Publicising the Foundation

The Trish Foundation is very grateful to Pat Mackle, Avant Card for producing 'Trish Who' postcards with information regarding the Foundation on the reverse.  Avant Card is distributing 22,000 postcards in their venues across Australia, raising awareness of both the Foundation and multiple sclerosis.

The Foundation's sincere gratitude is extended to Pat Mackle and Avant Card for their very generous support.

Inaugural Funding Grants

The inaugural (2002) funding round of the Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation has been completed.   The Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation is pleased to announce that the five top applications received funding.

The projects are all from major Australian Universities or Research Institutes.  Please see our Research page for details.

Kooroora Tennis Club Opening Dedicated to Foundation

The Foundation wishes to sincerely thank Kooroora Tennis Club for dedicating the opening of their magnificent new tennis complex to the Foundation.  Past and present club members, as well as others, donated generously resulting in $1,254.80 being raised.   Thankyou Kooroora!

Bequest Gift

Grateful thanks to Jerry Lattin for requesting donations to the Foundation in memory of his late wife Beres, who was inspirational in her battle with MS.  Beres was a member of the nursing profession, an elegant, lively, gregarious and friendly lady who was popular with everyone.

Triple M Fundraising

The Foundation is very grateful to Triple M for the great opportunity to fundraise at the M1 Concert presented by Triple M.

Paul Newman Foundation Grant

The Foundation has received $5,000 from the Paul Newman Foundation towards our research.

Paul Newman, acclaimed actor and racing car driver, started a food business in his basement, he and a friend filling old wine bottles with their homemade salad dressings to give to their friends as Christmas presents. As a lark they decided what was good enough for their friends would be good enough for the public so begin selling their products. Within two months they were receiving requests from all over the United States, no-one being more surprised than Newman who immediately declared “Let’s give all profits away to those who need it!”

“When we started all this, everyone said it was a joke and even I said it was a joke,” Newman said. “The embarrassing thing is that my pasta sauces are out grossing my movies, but I am fighting back.”

The Foundation very much appreciates the support of the Paul Newman Foundation and particularly its Australian Administrator, Sue Home.

Australian Cricketers Support the Foundation

The Foundation is very appreciative of the magnificent support of the Australian Cricket Board, Women's Cricket NSW and the Australian 'Southern Stars' team.  A gold coin collection at the gate of the second Ashes Test held at Bankstown Oval was donated to the Foundation's research.

Australian women's captain Belinda Clark, a former New South Wales team-mate of Trish said the Australian team was pleased to lend its support to the cause. "Trish Langsford was a talented cricketer for New South Wales and she also captained the Australian under-23 side against New Zealand in 1993-94," said Clark. "With her skill and determination, she could well have gone on to play for Australia at senior level, but unfortunately she was struck down with the degenerative disease." "The Foundation does tremendous work in continuing the fight to find a cure for MS and the team is proud to support the Foundation during the Test match," said Clark.

Australia retained the Ashes after winning the first Test in Brisbane and, with Australia in a commanding position, the second Test ended in a draw. The sizable amount of $1,032.25 was raised which was significant considering the inclement weather which was encountered. Sincere gratitude to the Australian Cricket Board, Women's Cricket NSW and the Australian team for their ongoing immense support.

International Support

The Foundation is very grateful to extraordinary supporters from the other side of the world.

Mary Ellen and Shaun Murphy of Massachusetts, USA held a very successful fundraiser and dedicated the funds raised to the Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation. They received tremendous support from the Mattapoisett Lions Club and raised approximately AUS$10,000 towards the Foundation's research.

Kuwait resident, Darlene Haddad has also worked very hard fundraising for the Foundation and has raised AUS$1,000 which has been deposited in the Foundation's Research Account.

The Foundation's very sincere thanks are extended to Mary Ellen, Shaun and Darlene for their magnificent support of the Foundation and its goal. Their significant support from so far away is very much appreciated.

Annual Gala Dinner - 7 November 2003

The aim of the Foundation’s Annual Gala Dinner, held on 7 November 2003, was to give the Foundation’s wonderful supporters an enjoyable fun-filled night whilst raising funds for the Foundation’s research. Feedback from those present indicated this was accomplished.

The Foundation wishes to sincerely thank every person who attended the dinner and bid so generously for the auction items and the vast number of people and organizations who generously donated items for the night. As well, sincere gratitude to the Foundation’s professional Master of Ceremonies Bill Gilbert, Auctioneer Extraordinaire Craig Marshall Century 21 Gordon, wonderful musicians Ian Thistlethwaite and his band Triple Exposure, Ralph Dixon who was interviewed about his successful ‘We Ride 4 MS’ and the magnificent venue Oatlands House.

Mayne Health Laverty Pathology continue to significantly support the Foundation in a multitude of ways. Again this year Mayne made a substantial donation towards the Foundation’s research.
