Rotary Club of Strathfield

Golf Day and Dinner 2008

 

The Rotary Club of Strathfield, for the seventh consecutive year, dedicated its Golf Day and Dinner to the Trish Foundation, attracting support from Corporates, other Rotary Clubs and supporters who came from far and wide.

Inspired by his wife Carole’s courageous battle with multiple sclerosis, Rotarian Niall King has again put his heart and soul into raising funds for the Trish Foundation’s research, assisted by Ray Wilson, Les Hockley and other Rotarians.

 “We are privileged to be able to assist Australia’s dedicated MS scientists who are internationally renowned,” Niall King said.

Approximately $34,000 was raised for the Trish Foundation’s research, bringing to over $150,000 the funds raised by the Rotary Club of Strathfield to assist the Trish Foundation find the cure for multiple sclerosis.

“Last year the Trish Foundation underwrote the MS Brain Bank which has now been officially launched by the Hon Verity Firth MP,” said Niall King. “We are honoured to be part of such significant steps in finding a cure for this debilitating disease.”

“Rotarians the world over provide community and humanitarian service and we really admire and are very grateful for the significant support the Trish Foundation is receiving from Rotary Club of Strathfield in assisting us provide additional momentum to conquer multiple sclerosis, which is increasing at an alarming rate,” said Foundation Chairman Carol Langsford.
