Golf Day and Dinner 2012
|Niall King OAM, Rotarian and all-round good guy has again
excelled himself, leading the organising committee to raise $76,000 for MS
Led by Des Harvey, the Muirs Motors Ashfield group, a valued Sponsor of the event
Niall was joined by colleagues Ray Wilson OAM, Les Hockley
and Geoff Thoroughgood who all worked tirelessly and contributed great personal
generosity to conduct yet another special fundraiser for the Trish Foundation.
The Foundation’s Golf Day and Dinner held at Strathfield
Golf Club on 16th February was a resounding success, attracting support from
far and wide.
The Foundation’s video produced pro bono by DMC Digital,
featured Dr Michael Barnett, Brain and Mind Research Institute, who spoke in
very encouraging terms about MS research.
Guests were entertained by Chris Castle, who also performed
the important duty of Auctioneer and Magicians Bill Walsh and Steve Walker who
mesmerised guests with their magic and talents.
Bill Gilbert again gave his time to be Master of
Ceremonies. Bill was MC for the
Foundation’s first Ball in 2001 and has continued his great support ever since.
“We are indebted to Niall, Ray, Les and Geoff for working so
hard again this year and raising such substantial funds for important research
projects,” said Trish Foundation Chairman Carol Langsford. “This is the eleventh Golf Day and Dinner
which Niall has organised for our cause, the total funds raised being over
$400,000, a massive boost to our research funds.”
“Thank you so much also to our very generous Sponsors, the
donors of so many great items, Chris
Castle, Bill Gilbert, Bill Walsh, Steve Walker, our volunteers and all the people who supported
the Golf Day and Dinner and contributed to the funds raised for MS research.”
