Progress in MS Research Conference

MS Research Australia’s Progress in MS Research Conference is a biennial opportunity for Australian neuroscientists and researchers to come together, present their latest findings and form contacts for potential research collaborations.

The 2015 Progress in MS Research Conference was held in October in Melbourne.

The purpose of the Progress in MS Research Conference is to:

·        Stimulate innovative research into the causes, prevention, improved treatments and ultimately a cure for multiple sclerosis (MS).

·        Promote the exchange of scientific thought and investigation amongst neurologists, scientists, biologists, social and applied researchers and other qualified individuals interested in advancing the field of multiple sclerosis research.

·         Encourage and support collaboration among national and international researchers.

Key conference themes were:

·        Vitamin D and Photobiology: Basic research and therapeutic applications in MS.

·        Repair and Regeneration: Myelin and oligodendrocytes - from basic biology to treatment.

·        Social & Applied Research: Online rehabilitation tools and optimising limb function in MS.

·        Human Pathogenesis: Viruses in MS and the role of platelets in inflammation and diagnosis.
