2014 Round of Funding

The Foundation is pleased to announce the Research Projects which we will be funding commencing 2014:

1. Project Grant:  Professor Trevor Kilpatrick.  Determining how polymorphisms in the MerTK gene modify the risk of multiple sclerosis.  Funding for two years.

2. Project Grant:  Dendritic cell and topical therapies for multiple sclerosis.  A/Prof David Brown.  Part funding for three years.

3. Postgraduate Research Scholarship:  Katherine Sanders.  Analyses of epigenetic signatures of post mortem lesions in MS brains and correlation to circulating body fluids.  Funding for three years.

The Projects were recommended for funding by MS Research Australia’s Research Management Council following assessment, evaluation and ranking, including a peer-review process.  The projects were then considered and approved for funding by the Foundation’s honorary Scientific Research Committee and Board of Directors.

THANK YOU to our wonderful supporters whose great generosity has enabled us to continue making a significant contribution to MS research in Australia.
