The inspiration for the Trish Multiple Sclerosis Research Foundation, Trish Langsford, sadly passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, 16 March 2002 after a very brave fight.

Trish the angel has landed in God’s safe hands

Weep not that she is gone, but smile that she was here

With the passing of Trish, the Foundation is even more determined, if that is possible, to continue to work hard and pursue a cure for multiple sclerosis so that others do not have to endure the suffering that Trish did.

Every dollar raised is placed into the Foundation’s research into finding that cure as the Foundation is staffed entirely by a team of very hard-working volunteers.

Trish suffered from a relatively rare form of primary progressive multiple sclerosis.  Before being struck down with MS at age 23, Trish was an elite athlete. During her high school years at Ravenswood School for Girls, a girls' school on Sydney's North Shore, she was a member of the victorious Tildesley tennis team from Year 7 to Year 12 and captained the team in her final year.

Current students and old girls of Ravenswood are supporting the Trish MS Research Foundation through their own, much appreciated, fund raising efforts.

Following her school years, as well as being an A1 tennis player and a first grade hockey player, Trish was in the NSW Open Women's cricket team, the Australian Squad, and captained the Australian Youth Team in 1994 against New Zealand (as seen in the picture to the right).

Having graduated from university with a degree in Human Movement, Trish became development officer for the NSW Women's Cricket Association. She really loved her job and she was very sad when, at the age of 23, she finally had to relinquish the position because of her multiple sclerosis.

The Trish MS Research Foundation has been established to raise funds for research into the cause of MS and to work towards finding a cure and eventually prevention.
